Title: Getting Dockets signed
Post by: Moderator David@stives on October 08, 2008, 05:00:00 pm
I now have a new hobby , getting dockets signed.

We do that many shops for different people we have to get dockets signed and it is becoming a logistical nightmare. They are spread over about 10 different towns snd dont know if i am coming or going.

Some people want there own dockets and some are in and out and and some just out. So you have to remember to get the right bit signed.

How do you cope with your dockets and how do you manage the work especially the insides when they are not open

Dave we have a standard form, they sign it, end of.  The form says the work has been done to their satisfaction, its signed by one of their employees.  When I negotiate a contract and they bring up the form thing, I explain all my customers get a standard form, if they wish to attach it to their own form (they get a copy with invoice) they are welcome.  I express we cannot manage several hundred forms so we use a standard. All are fine with it.  ;)

I use my own for some jobs.

What about the high street chains that insist on there own, we only use dockets where they are thrust upon us, never by are own personal choice.

I have different ones from different retailers and they all want there own

They get to use mine or nothing thats the choice, Its my business I call the shots. Once you tell them this they will do  as you ask, especially as they have accepted your quote for a reason - dont be sucked in.

Steve

Im getting on really well with Service Ceo. I use the invoices (printed with window envelopes) mostly as most prefer a paper copy. Service Ceo has made us so much more efficient its worth every penny.

Weuse pre done carbon copy we have one thats 2 the other 3.

If no one in they get it signed & dated & pushed through letter box, that then is sent with invoice & we keep a copy on file.

Or if in they sign & recieve top copy, we invoice as above.

All company details on carbon, a copy of our letterhead & space for comments etc.

These are made for us by a local printer & are only pence each, but, you have a full papertrail of working day per van & all info is logged in writing & signed.

We also sign so you have a log of employee who carried out work.
