there on offer.

never get them you have to lift a sofa to get them under! just lift it to move it.
-
Same as you dave just move it without them mate.
You are bound to loose them one by one in transit ;)
-
i'd be lost without mine, a 3 seater settee with 2 armchairs upturned on to it is well heavy, put the sliders on and its like dancing on ice.

I get on very well with those. Bigger the better in my experiences, furniture falls off the small ones because they still have too much friction on the carpet.
Keeping furniture up on sliders also removes the risk of dye transfer and water damage to the furniture whilst it's temporarily out of position.
Incidentally, there was an identical topic to this a while ago, sticky tabs were mentioned and a few folks said they were going to try them.. any feedback from anyone on those?
-
Been using the sticky tabs since I got them off JK back at the CCDO.
Been a great help. I make sure the customer sees me using them ;)
-
Nice to hear some feedback Joe ;)
Can you slide any sort of furniture about on them or only the light stuff? The promotional video only uses light, easy to move furniture, it left me thinking that they'd just come off from a lot of furniture legs. I suppose the type of carpet would have a bearing too?
-
Hear they are v handy those sticky tabs and joe swears by them :)
Jim do you have a web site mate ???
-
I find they dont stick to some furniture feet as well as others. Probably the material of the foot of the coating on it.
Often moves better on the heavier furniture then on the lighter stuff.
Just got to make sure it is still in place after the move.
-
Interesting Joe, thanks for that. My current tabs will probably be gone in a month or so, I might just get me some of those to try out ;)
-
I bought some at ALLTEC at the open Day
First one was a really Heavey piece of Leather Gone through the material covering.
Did help with front but back legs very hard to get to.
I can see they help bit but not convinced they are a must

Do you mean sliders or sticky tabs Ian? Sorry I shouldn't have hijacked the topic :-[
-
sliders are fantastic, move allsorts without breaking your back and the sticky tabs are very good as well, they do slide to a certain extent but the point is they are easier to put on the bottom of furniture than foil and they look more proffessional

the best sliders i've got are from solutions UK beTter than any other ones i have used
i've got the lakeland, alltec one as well but the solutions ones are by far the best IMO
-
colin, i also have both sorts and i have to say i don't find a difference, they are plastic, they slide, what more can they do? the lakeland ones at around a 5th of the price are well worth a punt in my opinion,

Talking about sliders Heard about them years back but thought I could manage without but have suffered two injuries in past two months so must be more careful etc
-
Honestly Ian, get some and try them out.... after a few weeks you'll wonder how you ever managed without them!
-
Cheers all. ;)

Hi Jason
www.sliderz.co.uk
have been great. Even sold one set on to a customer but save a set of wages to help move furniture, especially in flats.

blimey martyn, there's a recession on you know!!
colin :o

i find the lakeland ones dont slide anywhere near as well as the solution uk ones, i find on heavy items they stick to the carpet more and have more resistance but still good for the price and better than not having any at all
got a delivery of STICKY TABS today
thank the lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
or john kelly

Let us know what you think about them after a week or two Colin ;)
-
just got my lakeland sliders and i'm not impressed, put them under a chair and sat on it (15.5 stone) and asked my wife (8 stone in the rain) to push me, nothing! put my sliderz (with a zed) (see web site in earlier thread) under and she moved me no problem.
sliderz 10 out of 10
lakeland 4 out of 10
in my opinion you get what you pay for.

Less pies!
-
jim. i have not got a clue what this lot are on about, lakelands are all i have used for over a year and i can say hand on heart i never have a problem with them, trouble is like anything, it's the operator that's usually at fault!!!! most of the time you pre-spray around the object to be moved and so once you push onto the damp bit you have to hold on tight so the table doesn't slide through the patio door!
colin ps it also hurts a lot less at their prices when you lose a set

"colin ps it also hurts a lot less at their prices when you lose a set "
And you can make a few more by selling them to impressed customers!
-
here here phillip, i have been known to give the small ones away to really good customers, that goes a long way,
colin ;)
