I get the impression the most economical way to filter hard water is with an RO system. I should be moving house soon and want the builder to make provision for my RO tank etc.

Do I just need a tap and plug?

And a drain to take the waste water !

				Hi Andrew,

Oh no! The builder is fleecing me as it is - £73 for the tap and £65 for the socket ! I don't know how much he would charge for a drain!
I am going to have a water softener fitted for the house water, which I think works by DI, but I read somewhere it is possible to have an RO system- is there any way I can combine the two?

 Here's hoping,

 Glen

Does an RO system waste need to be connected to the foul or surface water drainage?

you can just run the waste water to a drain with a length of hosepipe. if i`m filling as i go sometimes i do this to keep the customer happy.
