hiya, this will be my first winter with a hot system and I was wondering how hot most peoples water is.
i'm at 37° C at the brush head, since I cracked a window 2 months ago at 46° C.
i'm not using thermobore yet, so I guess this temperature will fall as the ambient temperature falls due to heat loss from my microbore.
please state temperature during summer/winter AT THE BRUSH HEAD, if you've cracked any windows and general thoughts.
I reckon the results will be really interesting. thanks

im thinking about going hot, but i dont want it much hotter than 20, i just do want to stop working because its frozen, not to clean faster
-
why not?

I have been using my hot system for about 2 months now. No cracks etc etc. I also dont have thermobore fitted. I have been using the system a 52 degrees C at the brush head. I was considering turning it down as the days are getting colder.
-
wow, 52°, that's well tropical!
-
I have been amazed how well it cleans upvc at that temperature. It even gets rid of most of the spider poo. Fantastic for first cleans too.
-
I've been using it at 60 with thermobore but not first thing in the mornings on cold days. I've got some old window frames with glass in to experiment on when it gets much colder.

That would be an interesting experiment Wayne.
You have the Omnipole hot box don't you? Is it temperature adjustable? can't find it on their website
-
Wayne,
Did you find thermobore made much difference?
-
is that 60 at the brush?

Hi Kev, yes the hose retains the heat better because the hose is colder on the hands to touch, so the hot water at the brush head remains hotter than before. I'm using more caution now on colder mornings using hot water because it's obviously hotter, don't want to crack any windows. I might fit a mixer valve and draw some cold water to reduce the temperature when it gets colder in the coming months as I can't control the temperature on the Omnipole heater.

I have the Varitech system and that has a variable control (mixer). Not sure what temp to turn it down to in winter though.
-
well we have broken windows in winter at less then 15 degs so watch out
-
20 or less is just about luke warm, so its a misnoma that its "hot" ?
