Title: What should I charge?
Post by: clean-east carpets on February 22, 2005, 07:25:43 pm
We are now in a position to start cleaning i.e course complete, portable and rotovac, van, insurance, leaflets.Upon taking our eldest daughter to gymnastics day after completing course, asked gym manager who cleans carpet was told nobody and he would ask commitee for approval. Therefore we now need to start giving quotes and are unsure of what prices we should be quoting. We live in Beccles,Suffolk and are a husband and wife team, does the area you live affect the price you can ask?We were going to charge £3.50 per meter domestic as this is what chem-dry have quoted us,is this to much? Also how much lower should the commercial rate be  than the domestic rate.
Thanks Adam

umm,  ::) the commercial rate should be higher, take in to account out of hrs working, add to that, you will have to wait for payment in most cases, and of course it will be dirtier, you should also base your pricing on your overheads, not what chemdry charge,
is your method better than theirs, are you more professional, ect ect,

Difficult one commercial pricing they want it cheap! One way is to be the last to quote and ask them can you see the other quotes, and then you can make a judgement decision.
