Currently doing some builders cleans on some large factory unit.
There has been some gaffer tape on the metal cladding which has a plastic coating and the gaffer tape has been removed but the glue with string is left behind.
We have tried allsorts to get this stuff of.
MDR, oilflow, Traffic film remover, Toilet cleaner, solvent UPVC cleaner, WD40 but nothing will shift it.
We can't scrape it due to plastic coating on the cladding.
Anyone have any ideas,
We had it on the window frames also but we got that off with solvent upvc cleaner.

have you tried meths or white spirt ?

No
Thankyou will try them tomorrow

yep
white spirit substitute or brush cleaner is what you need
i had a stack of things that were gaffa'ed together, came off a treat
give it a quick wipe over and that will soak in and loosen it, then just wipe it off

Just to back up what the other guys have said.. white spirit works a treat

Thanks very much chaps will get some tomorrow

upvc cleaner, came straight off :D

Tried UPVC cleaner and it made no differance what so ever.
Anyway found out today its easy when you know how.
Rub the gaffer tape glue with petrol leave for 10 minutes and wipe no elbow grease or anything it come's straight off.

Or isopropanol (neat) or maybe nail varnish remover.
