I have the iPhone as well and it is a great phone, however the current development environment and technologies on the iPhone mean that its very complex to write applications. I know that they are planning to support Java in the near future and then I will probably write the app for the iPhone

Thanks

You can install a load of cool apps on an iPhone if you have iTunes go to the store and look at the apps. If you hack the phone you can install even more. However any program designed to work with windows mobile won't work on osx mobile at all. I'd just buy the phone for the sheer fun of it.
