trying to transfer my george back up data to another pc and when i go to use the data restore function it keeps giving me the error message data damaged or incomplete. anyone have a scooby doo what its talking about?? ???
-
Paul may be along shortly, if not email him - he always answers if he is online. I used to download my data when it asked "do you want to back this up to another device" on to a pendrive then put that into the other pc- which I had already downloaded another version of George. But you do need to remember where the real George is.

You can download a data fix utility from george website.

Yes Dave, it has restored to the date of when i downloaded the newer version onto my new pc. something must be corrupt with the file i have backed up from my original pc.
I have even tried deleting the back up file and re-saving it. but still the same problem

on you origonal pc you can move a back up file manually into george
Go into c/ george/backup/ goerge.geo
or into george and get the latest GEO file it will look like 1G22a.geo, you will see dates next to them
Look at the dates and get the latest date file, it is important you keep track of the files you move, before you do it seek advice and back up onto a pen stick or something so you can go back to the origonal state
If it goes wrong i am not taking responsibility
