Anyone got any tips on what to use on really bad toilets. Tried to clean one today bottom of toilet where water sits was dark brown with thick limescale - managed to get it looking better with strong limescale remover & bleach but would love to know what to use to get it back to white again.
Look forward to hearing your ideas - so I don't have to have my hands in the bottom of a minging toilet!!

Hi
Get Spirit of Salts from your local hardware store, anywhere from £1.80-£2.50.
It is Hydrochloric Acid.
It has a very noxious odour, so wear a mask or hold you breath, pour into water slowly, close lid. Leave over night if possible or at least a few hours if it really is bad.
Flush and it should be gone, sometimes needs scrubbing with the loo brush.

Get some phosphoric descaler, get the water out of the pan as much as possible (shove brush in a few times does it) and give it a blast with the Phos. leave for about 10 minutes and then get some marigolds on, and using a green scourer scrub away. Maybe a nasty job but hey, we are cleaners!!

take out the limescale before flushing otherwise it can block the toilet..
