im sorry but

are the biggest pile of poo ever! i have one on my supalite and i get so frustrated with it, i had the supalite out for about a hour today and every little thing it got stuck on!!
much easier without anthing on them at all. amen

never used them.. carry plenty of spares just encase.

poo for yoo but I think they are great :P Your hose is probably longer than mine. Thats why it catches on everything.

yeh maybe thats why, the hose coming off the supalite is pretty long, but as i say it gets caught on every cornet notch little in dent, i cant really see how the length of my hose would make much difference

I have to say I agree. 99% of Alex's products are brilliant, but I couldn't get on with the Protecterball. It may very well prolong the life of end connectors, but I'd rather replace them a bit more often than be constantly to-ing and fro-ing to release a snagged ball.

tennis ball are just as good imo. I use one on the end of midrobore :D

You can get those balls in Tesco,pack of 6 for £1.00 or something silly,drill a hole in them yourself ;)

Have you tried slipping a six inch length - [shut up, and keep reading!] - of cycle inner tube over the end of the hose?
Position the end of it, flush with the end of your connector - secure the "inboard" end to the hose with a "zip-tie", or two.
Cheap and cheerful.
