Post by: MNWC on September 24, 2008, 04:01:50 pm
Hi

Where do you all put your on/off taps on your hose i was thinking of putting mine about 1 metre from the bottom of the pole when fully extended ??

Also how do you fix it to your person ??

Could i use the buckle from my boab at all ??

These are questions that need answering guys  :o

All the best
Marcus

Best putting your tap right at the end of you main hose so if you have more than one pole you only need one tap  ;)

I use the one from Gardiners and use cable ties to fix it on the end of each pole.

I only had one leak and that was probably because the hose wasnt push in far enough.

Now been ysing these for 2 months with no leaks at all. And i am very heavy handed.

I also have the bigger Gardiners tap on the end of microbore so I can disconnect the pole.

The reason i have a tap on each pole is to save water when moving from window to window.

All you need is one tap at the end of your main hose, then a tap holster on you hip to turn water on/ff  :D

hi,
varitech sell a trigger  system £40 fits most poles, haven't got myself though,
but i am thinking of doing as taps are bit bulky (microbores) also expensive and take a hiding being dragged about.

I think trigger system on pole my 18ft one that does 98% of my work then just female microbore connectors with proteckta balls.

As said though constant spend :P

I ve got a purefreedom on/off tap whch is located on the pole

h ttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/POLE-FLOW-CONTROL-VALVE-WATER-FED-POLE-WINDOW-CLEANING_W0QQitemZ260290686681QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item260290686681&_trkparms=39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A2%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

close the h and t

ive found its really handy ..you can turn off the flow between windows or if you have to stop for anything , without having to keep bending down to turn off tap when it s on a hose on the ground

Cheers Dave

I have the tap (small one) at the top on the gooseneck behind the brush when my pole is fully closed i only have a 2ft section of hose tail. i made the hole in the end cap bigger so it can take the quick release fittings up inside the pole i then extend the pole using my yellow hose .

end result is its a lot easier and quicker as there is less hose flapping about getting snagged
also any leaks go no where near me
