hi all.
when i was out today i turned on my varistream but i got no water out the end of the pole? thought i might have a kink in the hose so i unwound most of it no kink, but i did get a light stream of water but not as it used to be, the varistream is set on 6, this is new and has only been run for about 12 hours in total, i did notice when i first installed it the water pressure out the pole would drop off slighlty after about 10 seconds then if you shut the tap then opened again it would do the same thing again, is it possible i have the pump the wrong way round?? would this cause it?(shurflo)
thanks a lot...

Have you checked the battery.
-
is there water coming out of the 'out' of the pump?
sounds like massive airlock to me

I had a similar problem the other day the poles tubing got caught somehow, and was kinked inside the pole. Made sure everything was in working order, varistream up to max, unwound the hose, checked the fittings - nothing.
Only when i thought stuff it time to pack away, i pulled the pole hose to pack it away and off of a sudden whoosh!, water everywhere... lucky customers weren't home could have been rather embarrassing.

the battery is fine it charges from the van,
to dark to see the pump, my mate fitted it for me, i know its upside down, i will check in the morning to see if its the right way,
if i disconnect the hose from the pump to the hose reel there is a constant flow but i don,t know how strong this should be.

i,ll go and strip the pole down now.
thanks

It sounds like an airlock to me. Turn the pump on and rock the hose reel back and forth, this should help prime the pump, it works every time.
The 10 second blast of water is just the way a varistream works. When you shut the water off it will take the varistream a few moments to realize what you have done and stop the pump, this builds up extra pressure in the hose. When you open the water back up this pressure is released as a 5-10 second burst of water and then the pump kicks in at a constant speed. Getting a varistream set up perfect is a pain, but once they are set up they are worth it.

take hose off, and wap varistream up full, sometimes mine gets big airlocks and this clears it, i know it hardly comes out pole when its doing this
what fitting do you have at the end of your hose reel?
-
the fitting on the end of the hose reel is a tap which has a spring clip which the pipe on the end of the pole snaps into (today it seemed to be fitting a bit c**p) had to click it in a couple of times to get it in properly,
-
can you open that at the end of the hose? to see if you have a flow?
-
i think i can if i stuff something in the end, i,ll try it in the morning,
i checked the pipe inside the pole, there was a bit of a kink but not enough to cause this, for got to say it did seem to get better when i had less water in the tank, coinsidence i,m sure.
