Title: new contract/old cleaner

hi guys please help me again im not sure whats going on im starting a new contract wednesday im doing the cleaning the cleaner there has been there for only a matter of months i have written to his old company with little or no help i have informed them i will not need his services im now informed i have a 2 week handing over period between him and i is this right? i cant /. dont want to employ him at all ! any info would be great

you need to visit the site TUPE

the law states you have to take on the present cleaner

there are a couple of get out clauses but check out the rules first

If you can provide evidence that it is not economically viable for your business to take on the existing cleaner then your business does not have to take him on, that is under tupe regulations
