like a lot of you out there i redirect my calls to my mobile at my cost and depending how busy i am this can be quite expensive some months. just had a call from a company that will sell me a 0800 number that is mine to keep for life and the calls go through that and are therefore free after the initial payment of £150 for the pre-phone number. you keep your normal landline number. seems too simple, anyone else use this or has anyone any opinions on it,

I sent a copy of your post to a good friend who runs a well established Telecom company, . I asked him if it was too good to be true..
Here's the reply...
"He's got the wrong end of the stick poor chap!
0800 numbers are free to the caller.
The recipient pays a fee to receive the call (Varies between 1.5ppm and
20.00ppm dependant on the supplier of the number).
In this case he will then pay a second call from his office number to his
mobile when calls are on divert.
So in a nutshell, great to attract callers but the business pays a price.

Check out OPAL TELECOM 0800 298 6725. I have had my 0800 number with them for about 5 years. I did not pay any set up cost and only pay for the calls which are at least 10% cheaper than BT. Don't pay that other company £150 - they are having you over!!!

hey justin, not so much of the old girl, she will get upset! thought you had left the planet, i guess you have been busy, i have been busier than usual so no complaints. thanks, i will give telecoms a call,
