hi guys.
Ive been asked to quote to remove some graffiti.
It's an insurance job and they've asked for a quote, and a test area and they told me to charge for the quotation and test.
The graffiti wont shift so it needs to be painted.
how much do you think i should charge for the test piece? it took me about an hour(ish)
n.b. i will be taking on the painting of the house and subbing it to a decorator I know.
-
any ideas?
-
£95 - its not just the hour, its the writing of the report and all the rest
-
cheers BDCS
£95 - that much eh?
I was going to put in about £30. i didnt think i would be able to charge that much.
That sounds good to me.
Does anyone else have any imput please?
-
surely you have a minimum charge thats more than £30. At £30/hour x 7 works out at £210 and thats not enough for grafitti removal. Don't be scared to ask those sums for what is a specialist Skill
-
the test only took about an hour so i figured about an hours work = £30

I have just got back from Clacton - Essex and have done some sample area cleans for the client. No chemicals used, no pressure washer just a wfp system and about 100 litres of water on aluminium cladding. The dirt fell off.
Probably a lot more driving involved than with your work but also a lot more charged than £30.00 for the hour I was there.
The £95.00 fiigure sounds right - be brave
Rob ;D

have you sorted your pricing out for graffiti?
-
yeah, pricing the job is not a problem.
Its just pricing a quotation that im not sure about
-
i find it daunting thinking about how you price for a contract for removing graffiti?
as how do you know how much you will be removing and how much you should get/ ? is there a system to work it all out/ :'(

Hi Richy,
Was that job near Roath Lake? Mr. Verma. On K-rend?
Cheers,

Yeah it was.
Did you have a go at it?
-
If your that worried quote the price but write into it that you will discount the amount charged for the sample, just quote £95 dearer then they have paid for it but think they saved £95. I do a sample for my own benefit so I can be accurate in the quote but I don't cut it too fine - you need £300/day to make anything out of it

Hi Rich,
Yeah, my guys had a go at it, there was no chance it would shift. He wanted a letter for his insurance from us, but we've been pretty busy so I didn't get round to it. Have you painted it yet? Might be a good idea to suggest an anti graffiti coating to him for the lower half of the houses in case who ever he has upset re-visits.
Cheers,
Huw.

yeah i tried to remove a small bit, it faded it a little, but n where near enough.
i told him there was no chance too.
Ive sent him the letter for the insuance company, and subbed the work out to a decorating firm I do business with. Just waiting for a go ahead, still.
Because it is weber render, the paint costs a fortune mind.
Do you get a lot of graffiti removal jobs?
-
do you think the work is all tied up mainly for graffiti cleaning?
