Differn't areas differn't strokes but thought might give newbies an idea on what to look into when starting up. I myself had most success with van wrap and word of mouth. Just had leaflets done so will see how that goes.

The poll doesn't mean a lot. I'm sure most people will agree with me that business growth is down to a combination of all the choices, and then some more ;)

you need to be able to click more than one of the list in the poll if not all and then some as said.

I can`t beleive more people havn`t voted for van wrap,if you get a good 1 that stands out you can`t fail to catch peoples eye.A good wrap on a van that is always in certain areas will stick out like a sore thumb.

I really wanted to pick a couple of them there. I voted canvasing because I think when done properly it get the best results, today for instance, I finished alittle earlier than usual, just got through the jobs quicker, so I when around some shops and got a week job at the decent price.
But I hate canvacing residentials areas, because you here so many no's, but you do get a higher customer return in my opinion than just dropping leaflets.
I think van rapping is fairly cheap in fairness to how long it lasts and the impression it sets.
I dont have a site just because I dont want the monthly bill and dont like free webs, as I think it looks unprofessional for a business.
I dont like advertising in the local paper becuase in the past it has cost allot with little customer calls, though I am in the yellow pages, but didn't pay a penny for that.
Thats just my opinion though I am sure some may disagree...

Ive used all the forms in the post minus leaflet drops. But got 5000 leaflets printed so might do that too. Ive done newspapers, yellow pages, canvassing, van graphic, etc. Luke

If you work in an area and want more work there a wrap would win over any website easily, anyday.
-
i think your right NWH, my van has got me thousands of pounds worth of work...in only 2 months. Its nearly a wrap, Luke

sorry guys! how do you set it so you can vote for more than one?

My best form of advertising, or rather something that has got me four new jobs today, is a set of window cleaners.
We seem to have quite a few groups of young men that go around, usually in "Gangs of Four", team handed.
I won't say they "then proceed to clean the windows", 'cos most of 'em don't, if they think that the customers are out at work.
But, they forget that neighbours watch what they are up to.
Then they crowd round when it's collecting time, in a manner that many people, especially ladies on their own, find intimidating.
I've had six other jobs because of these tactics, plus the four on a small development, not far from here, today.
Keep it up, you are doing my business the world of good!
