Is it ok not to run the system constantly , I only use ti when my tank needs filling it doesn't run 24/7 also what snould I do with it when it won't be used for a while like when I go on holiday , normally i disconnect it from the tap and put it in the shed .

ideally you should let an ro run as lon as possible but as long as you let it run an hour or more then it'll be fine.
as for storing it, do NOT let it dry out - its a write off then.

so if u purify enough water in one night and it lasts you all week(for example)and you dont useit again till week after theres a risk it will bugger up.?????
i need to know this as im ordering my freedom trolley end of week and wiv wot you have sed i might not bother.... :'(

no alan means if you disconnect it,drain it and store for like weeks
if you flush it before making each "batch" then should be fine

well I wouldn't drain it - whats the point? Just leave it connected but not turned on - the water will stay put inside the housings then. If you drain it then there is a risk of it drying out, which if it does then it will require new membranes.
but yes, flush before each fill and it will save your resin.

Hi guys,
My 300gpd RO from pure freedom is coming out at 002 after DI now,
Ive flushed it and changed the resin last week and it went to 000 but now is 002.
Obviously I need to change the membranes but which ones do I need to change?(im new to this)
What do I need to ask for when purchasing?

how old is this system ???
how many litres of water have you made with it ???
mebranes last a good couple of years
surely you just need to change the resin again mate

I use about 150 litres a day.
I only changed the resin last week but its back to 002 plus ive got the good old green algae problem on the clear bottom filter. ???

002 is fine to use so dont worry about that
you have a 700ml resin cartridge
these need more frequent refills than big vessels
some questions ;D
tds from tap
tds from ro (before di)
i find that a fresh fill resin makes about 600 or so litres of 000
it then starts to rise but i use up to 004 with no probs
as for algae i have never had a problem with it but it needs sunlight to form

TDS from tap is 260ish and from RO before DI is about 12 last time I checked,

this ro is quite new and working well by the figures you are giving ;D
when tds starts to rise the first thing to suspect is resin
check water out of ro every 2 weeks or so
when that starts rising
the next thing to change is pre filters(that will be at least 3 months use from new before you need to look at them)
membranes are last thing to go usually
now go and have a beer ;)

yes pre filters are the vertical ones at bottom
membranes are the horizontal tubes above
have a whisky instead :)
