I am finding that i need a shorter pole for downstairs windows as it gets quite cramped at times with my slx. Can anyone recommend something at around 2 feet max?
-
You could always cut down an x-tel shortest length, they are cheap poles!!
-
I cut my xtel down to 2x 3 foot sections

Use a cut-down wooden broom handle.
You don't need lightweight exotic materials for a 2 foot pole. Even a bit of old gas pipe would do.
There's a 4 foot Harris pole available at about £13 that's ideal.

I have 2 small poles each I think are 2ft closed, very rare that I use them but are good for the odd job.
purefreedom.co.uk sell them

Yes, you do have to mess about with the thread.
The hose can go up the middle like on a regular extendible pole. Cutting the hole in the base isn't too difficult.

I have an 8ft which goes down to a 4ft. Never needed anything smaller.
-
cleantech do an unger alu pole 2x2 ft extender
drilled and piped up with an alu end cone to fit vikans
-
You can get an extender like mine from wintecs.co.uk

I just use a spare brush and hold it in my hand, you dont have to have a pole for low level restricted work.
-
do you have a hollow arm for the water ::)

I would like to have a shorter SL-X, but really, how much time would I waste by going to the van, and get my small pole. Maybe have it strapped to my back like a rifle, that would look funny.
Anyway, I just turn the pole horizontally, and do it from the side.
