These stains will be permanent most of the time, What solvents do you use in your spotting kit?

water soluble nitromors sometimes works but flush through well.

How big are the stains?

Is a retuft or insert possible?

What part of Essex are you in?

Raise the pile and apply with paint brush so that only the fibres are wetted (carefully). Or put some onto a towel/cloth and then apply carefully.
But you'd be best testing first by using cotto bud to apply and see if there is any transfer to a towel before going at the whole stain.
