Title: New Flocked Brush - Single or Dual Trim?
Post by: Alex Gardiner on September 14, 2008, 08:53:33 pm
Due to customer demand, we are planning on bringing out a flocked version of the new Super-Lite brush.  I personally am not planning on using the flocked version of this brush therefore I would be keen to have some feedback on whether those that would like such a brush, would like it in dual trim or single trim.  Over to you ....................

I would like to try it in both first just to see but i would think the dual would work better if it`s the same setup as the new brush ie new bristle length and positioning.

Alex/Anyone

What is the purpose/reason for having a dual trimmed brush?
Is it meant to be better, generally (i.e. for all window cleaning) or for specific work only (e.g. high pole work, leaded windows, other work)?

Thanks

Mike

Having two different lengths allows the outer bristles to splay out and provide easy glass cleaning with minimum pressure applied but when extra pressure is applied, the inner shorter bristles come into contact with the glass and provide extra scrubbing power.  I personally just like the way they work over windows generally, particularly over Georgian window frames.  However, there are some people who prefer single trim for the majority of work.  A lot of it is personal taste.

woudn't it be better flocked inner (for extra scrubbing power if required) and mono outer (for rinsing ON with only the mono touching the glass)?

as the flocked holds onto dirt more where mono doesn't?
