Just trying to work out how i can increase my income other than win the lottery!
However, just wondering what hours everybody else works per day, per week, and what time people start in the morning, to see if that may be the remedy. (Obviously working in the rain is a factor, showers i do, i dont if its anything more, but i think i will be soon).
Im not going to say what hours etc i do until i get some replies>
Cheers Craig ( An I need to earn more window cleaner)

When I first started cleaning about 10 years ago Id do no more than 25 hours a week. That was it, no more, I was adamant one of the benefits of being self-employed was that I could sit at home and scratch me arse for half the working week :o
However, my attitude has changed since then. Its not unknown for me to do 30 hours a week now ;D
I did 7 yesterday :o
But thats cleaning only, doesnt include things like paper-work/organising the round for the week ahead/collecting/pricing up/etc
-
i start at 8 every morning monday to friday, 10minutes for dinner home at 3.30pm dont go to cafes and waste 2 hours like half of window cleaners
-
Actually it was more like 8 yesterday ;D
Felt like it anyway.
-
Im up evryday before 6am...I start at 8am sometimes even a bit before, its never been an issue with customers, and i will stay out till i hit my daily target, or if i hit that and still have energy i will do more like i did yesterday! I only stop for less than 30 mins for dinner too....

Started at 5am today will finish about 11/12 ish tonight.

He must mean work as in office work at night??

I start when I drop off my nipper at school, 9.15 ish by the time I get to my first job. Normally finish in time to pick the nipper up at 3.30. Somedays I work later, somedays I finish early. thats why I love being self employed.
-
TVCS, thats basically my hours!
My thinking is i need to start earlier and finish later. Sorted part of this since i started this post. There is a breakfast club at my childrens school so i can drop them off for 8am, excellent an extra hour at least a day. Thats a start! obviously i still have paperwork, computer work and collecting to do too, so need to sort that out too.
-
start at 9 finish between 4or5

my 400 litres runs out within 5 hours of work. Another hour of travelling to and from home and between jobs.
The odd day i will turn my flowrate down just to complete an area.
Some days i won't start until mid day. Not cos i'm lazy (well sorta maybe ;D) but because i work away from where i live and i socialise alot in the areas i work.
So if i gotta meet someone at 5pm, i will start later so i haven't got to come back home and then drive back out there later in the day.
I'm a bit of an anorak when it comes to fuel consumption. :)

Try to work 09:00 to 15:30 arrive home....I do not like to work at weekends but will if really required.
Dave.
-
Start at 830 home to pick lad up from school at 330

i allways** take my daughter to school and then head off to work, work till about 4.30 then home for a while
most weeks i do my commercial and work a few hours before school ( ** 1 day every 6 months i miss the school run ) then i sometimes do some commercial after tea time
i work a few hours on a sunday aswell ( normally home by 10.00 though )
i only work 3 days a week
-
Up at 8am but work 10am - 4pm if im honest. would like to be motivated to start earlier but im not a morning person. dont stop for lunch but if i do just half an hour.
-
oh i grab a sandwich for 5 mins about 12.30
no time for a lunch i am afraid, i cram as much as i can into the 3 days
-
between 4 and 6 hours usually sometimes longer if i want to finish a particular area...... any more than that and im bored out of my mind.
-

I get really pee'd if i cant start at 8, because of traffic etc, because i just wanna finish and go, so i know i could be an hr closer to that etc if im starting at ten, i dropped off my friends kid in school today and had to pick him up too as hes dad is on hol so hes staying with me but its a nightmare having to rush to work, rush as much work as you can then leave early to pick em up...couldnt make a living i dont think personally especially with bad weather on top etc, but maybe you guys got better prices??

Never understood why people hopuse count to finish, when I started I got sucked into this, after a year I stopped it, it is now the money value be it 50 houses or 1, I work for money not amount of houses I can do in a day as most are different, so please tell me anyone that does house counting how you can do this as it seemed bad idea for business to me, but I am intersted to know the ins and outs of this with an ever increase and decrease of work load including prices of houses/properties

I still say I wouldn't.
The reason being, that's never going to happen is it?
You're not going to give me £600 for a day, and nor is anyone else.
It's a hypothetical question.
