Yeah i ve seen some little spiders you can get through doorways and then they spread out so to speak....what would you abseil from inside a building as there wont be any eyebolts etc??

Those spider lifts that you talk about are ideal for this type of work, talk about taking the hassel out of a job this is it.There a lot of money i`m told but well worth it if you have a number of these jobs.

I instructed a firm i use for my access equipment to do me a site survey to determine what equipment would be needed to carry out the work internally.

He told me it would be difficult due to weight of large spider on tiles, therefore he gave me a number of an abseiler.

For one reason or another i wouldnt feel to comfortable using him, therefore thats my reason for posting.

I will be contacting Facelift in the morning for a second opinion.

I do no abseling work what so ever, so im pretty clueless on the subject. All i know is that the abseiler said it would not be a problem.

I do the external work 4 times per year & have no interest regarding the internal reception & roof.

still no mention of how high.
there is a spider thats less than 1m wide to get through doors and 24m boom.

Chris

On our Sainsburys work we have reason to use large platforms on their external slab areas.

same principle as the interiors - it is all about spreading the weight load.

I have not seen the site but I would think that an 18mm board would spread the weight adequately - one under each foot

If you're stuck I will be happy to come and have a look for you - have a chat and coffee
