Its less stress, less hassle, less time,.. AND less tax to pay!!!

My accountant saved me more than she charged me last year. I wouldn't have known I could claim back refuse charges, doctors bills, health insurance etc,... she sorted it all out and the cheque to the tax man was half what I expected.

:)

I think using an accountant also shows a more professional approach, as you all know your accountant signs your returns and so even if things aren't exactly as they should be (and lets face it, its nearly impossible to get it right all the time) then you are much less likely to have the tax man poking his nose in.
I'm not saying its ok to fiddle the books, what I am saying is its easy to calc turnover, expenses etc - but it is easy to put 100 into the calculator instead of 10 and not notice it.

You forgot the sandwiches and the T.V. set.  :)

BTW.  For anyone who is interested.  Although medical bills are not deductible, a medical appliance that allows you to work IS deductible.  I needed something to put around my lower back area for a while back in the 90s.  That went into the books quite legally.

Used to, but realised it was cheaper without one.

It's not hard to work out, and I still found my tax roughly the same without paying £175 for an accountant.

Some say its easy, some say its not a problem.

That might be true, I dunno.

But I have an accountant as without one it wouldnt EVER actually get done.

The account for me has been fantastic..and that is not I word I would usally associate with a bean counter...

This year he has paid for his own bill....got me money back from 2006/2007 about £2100....now I have just bought a house he has gone through all of that and got our remortgage payments reduced by 66% for the 1st 4 monthly repayments (this is a 1st time buyer and new business in it's 1st 3 years...rebate.

Now the bean counter has told me all the repairs, rewiring, plumbing and new garage doors on our work garage is all tax decutable.

And to top that...I now clean his windows as of yesterday ;D

So our man with the beans is my 'hero' right now ;)

Cheers
Dave

now off to buy paint and get dirty...doing DIY type things
