Title: Staff Rant
Post by: garyj on February 16, 2005, 04:35:21 pm
Sacked two staff today and as usual they couldn't give a damn because there is so much work out there.

So beware everyone, Dumb & Dumber are looking for work at your cleaning company very soon.

it is so hard to find reliable staff who enjoy the work.......i got stuffed by the only other employee apart from my pal, who just kept letting me down by taking time off all the time and then just chucked it all in without giving me any notice. I think she just wanted to earn a few quid as it was her smallest kids birthday at the end of  last month.....what can you do, too much work, not enough staff!! >:(

hi there,

we have had a problem with an employee, decided he didnt want to do a certain cleaning task, and then swore at me and put the phone down.

so final written warning tine i think.

interviewed another chap yesterday, and he looks quite good to go into another vehicle in three weeks time.

At the end of the day the industry that we have chosen to be in, is a people industry, and if you dont get the staff right then you are on a back foot.

regards

martin

Final written warning for being sworn at? If it was meant and I felt threatened they would be out the door on the spot.
Martin, you are too nice ::)

Hi all

If you have done your homework and have done a detailed and comprehensive contract for your staff, you will have placed in there certain proceedures for getting rid of staff. For example 1 or maybe 2 verbal warnings then a written warning before they are out.
These procedures obviously go both ways.!! i.e staff can't just ring in one day and say they are not coming in anymore!!etc etc.
So yes, Martin is not only being too nice to this muppet who swore at him, but probably following his procedures!! ....chuffing procedures!!

Regards

Tim
