still baffles me how people evaluate their rounds to be honest, i think more than 2x is mick taking in my honest opinion
my dad was a window cleaner and we were talking about this the other day and he said its mad, he said in his day theyd help you with the round un paid, do it next time with out you and give you that money so its lke 1.5 times
a round on a peice of paper is worth nothing in my opinion
if they all dropped you its a complete waste of money

Beleive me you havn`t seen that many good rounds then,2x the amount is nothing for the right round that has been established and built up over many years.

ive had my round years and its big but i still dont evaluate that high
man if i got 3 or 4 times the worth of my round id take the rest of the year off
and 10 times i could take next year off too!

How big it is means nothing,you could have a 100 houses at a tenner each that take you a week and 2 jobs that you charge £500 for and take 2-3 days,that`s the difference and with the latter you can take your time and not run round like a headless chicken.It all comes down to the type of work involved that determines the price and how much can be earned,it`s as simple as that the numbers thing and my round is massive is meaningless.

supply and demand. if demands outstrips supply = high as people will pay 8x. if demand is low = 2x to free, nobody wants em. same as houses, cars, clothes, food etc etc

4-5 years is not that long a time to build a quality round,you might buy lots of bits of work and end up with loads of work but that`s not to say it`s good.Anyone with a quality round at some point has had to sort the wheat from the chaff.

What about the people, who have done that, have an excellent round and now are having to put up with this 3x the monthly value.
Rather than sell it for peanuts i would get someone to work it,i would pay them over and above what they could earn with another WC and more than what they would get door knocking for a few weeks.You will find that some WC`s would rather work a good well priced round for someone else and earn a good living over working there own and having to deal with what goes with it,it`s a case of finding the right person and that`s the hardest part.Not all people want the responsibillty of working for thereselves but are still good workers,like i say it`s finding them.

had 15 yrs plus exprience, and a domestic compact round in the west yorks area seems to go for x3/4 per monthly clean,these are compact rounds ie house after house,street after street....just a general question to you all is this is a northern england thing as a forumn member from down south told me rounds are not as compact down south and its more of a case of jumping in and out of your van from one house to the other :-\ :-\
if this is the case it goes partially the way in explaining why people don,t value their round.

6x is still not enough, although it does show what is possible and what could be possible.
I think self employed window cleaners are missing out here all that hard graft and at the end you hold a valuable list of customers.
Surly if there was some representation and guidelines that would offer security and confidence to a buyer and would substantially increase the value to it’s true worth. Extra benefit would raise the image of professional round.

said it all along people outside window cleaning can come into the business and have the potential to earn 20.00 per hr we should not undervalue ourselves and the newcommer should pay the premium of x 10 to buy a ready made business.

Your business is worth whatever you can get for it and is worth what ever you are prepared to sell it for.
One man rounds are probably worth the lower multiples because they are generally going to be bought by people who will operate them as a self employed business.
I like to think that most businesses including window cleaning are worth a multiple of their annual profit. somewhere between x2 and x10
I would sell mine for 5x annual profit. The real question is would I get a buyer!!!
