you earn like 5 per min they are on, not a lot i know but for doing nowt and maybe looks pro on van?
what are your thoughts, obviously 0800 is better
-
Hi LWC,
I was looking at this but the biggest problem is that you can't direct to a mobile phone for free so its no good if your on the move all day.
Not sure if you could redirect your home phone to your mobile and then have the 0871 number point to your home one??
I would be interested if anyone else has any other thoughts?

I have got an 0800 directed to my mobile

Lots of people refuse to ring 0870 0871 numbers and these people think you are ripping them off. I never ring them unless it is life and death. The customer pays anything up about 10p per min.
You are much better with a landline and/or 0800.
-
i can get you all an 0800 number for around £200 one off fee and can be directed to any number free, you get 1000 minutes free a month for life
-
correct, and you get to pick your own number. :)

Windowwashers,
How much does this cost and what company did you use?
Ian

I use www.ttnc.co.uk it is only £25 plus vat for the number for life, but you pay for the diverts. Mind you conversations are normally short and I have only spent about £30 in divert charges, since last oct on two numbers, plus a fax number to email.

I have a freephone number but it cost me £100 , and I have to pay for the call time 1 :'(
-
like i said £200 and 1000 minutes free a month

tells us more - I have a mate who has just signed up to this. (THB I thought he was winding me up!) Anyway whats the name of the company? Come on nothing to lose as if you don't tell me then I will just ask him and post the details here!!! ;) How long have you been with them? Why do you recommend them? Do you think it gains you extra business? don't take offence by the questions I am just interested. I have my reasons which I am sure I will end up explaining in this topic at some stage.

But it still doesnt give you free divert to mobile? Or have I misunderstood what the 1000 minutes are?
-
thats what im saying, the deal i get gives you free divert to any number and you can change it whenever you like, 1000 free incoming calls a month and the online tracker
the better numbers cost more obviously but i got 0800 5 118 260 on the same price band as what i can get

What are the prices for if you go over the 100 calls (or is it minutes) a month?
I am interested as I was looking at this recently. Can you also do call timings i.e between 9-5 divert to 1 number and after 5 divert to another?
Thanks for the info

Joe,
I'd really appreciate it if you could find out for me. But the basic package is £200 one off fee and 1000 minutes a month for life.

yeh you got it, will try get the info for you

personally, if I am looking for a service, i will call the local landline number rather than 0800 or the like.
it can make you look like an expensive national co that subs out its work. i have had quite a few custys that have told me they physically searched for a company with a number local to them.

You cant please everyone, and if they call and think your expensive thats not really a bad thing because when you give them the price they smile.

AJ,
I have a dedicated mobile number, do you think this would be better than an 08 number?

Both would be better IMO
if you work in the same area code then a normal number is fine, we work across about 6 different areas now and this is growing so a local number really does not have any weight for what I need.
-
Ian how do you get an 0800 number buddy??

This is similar to a situation I have. I advertise in the yellow pages, because we are right on the border of two directories I advertise in both. (the gloucestershire and the west midlands south ones) Now I have picked up loads of work in malvern, why?
Well my ad doesn't have my address in it, the std code for malvern is the same as tewkesbury. What I didn't realise when I placed the advert was that there were no wc's from malvern advertising. Now joe public looks in the directory and looks for the local malvern w/c and all they can find is me. What they are looking for is a cleaner local to them but the only person with a malvern code is me so they ring me . I get at least 3 calls a week from people in this situation, they all say the same thing, They have looked through the book and looked for the local guy. It was just luck that things worked out like this but if I had a 0800/0870 etc number I would get none of these calls. People like supporting their local businesses - even if in this case all is not as it seems!
-
i use this company for my 0800 number www.telecomsworldplc.co.uk/ its about 5 pound a month with 500 free min
-
that isnt to mobile though is it?
-
no you do pay so much for the divert wich i will be doing soon
