The thing is theres 5 of these all next to each other, and if you get one the chances are youll probs get a couple more, is there any way of finding out when people move into a house as all these are up for sale.

I would say £40 not including conservatory roof - you should get £35 as a minimum for that property.

If there is a good chance of getting the rest then I would look at offering my services for £30 per house - I can't see it taking any more than 45mins for a house like that.

£35.

£40 maybe.

Win some, you lose some, see what you can get.

That has got to be the most perfect looking and clean house ive ever seen,
infact I have seen this somewhere before (A computer generated image) lol

Auto gates with code or key I suspect no good for WFP.

Wouldnt do it unless I had unrestricted access.

Lol, i have prices in mind just want to see everyone elses, how do you approach getting this kind of job, the access is 2 gates (one in pic) at each end that lead in to all 5 homes, access to back is down the side.

I have a pad full of gate numbers, some of them will open with a seperate phone number dialled. They won`t all give you the codes straight away that`s why i go on about trust being the number 1 thing in this business.

NWH I have customers on the books who live in much bigger houses than the one in question, that house will take no more than 45mins for a competent wfp'er to clean - now if you feel you need to charge more than £40 for something like that then the only conclusion I can come to is that you are very slow.

Like i said i did have a price in mind and i was thinking about the £60 ish mark,
NWH is abou 8 miles from me, these are £1.6 million homes
Title: Re: How much would you charge on a 4 weekly
Post by: alanwilson on August 28, 2008, 10:08:57 pm
well if you can get £60 for it then great but there seems to be an awful lot of guys on here who don't have enough work (whether they admit it or not), not bringing in as much money as they want/need and yet still quote very very high prices for window cleaning.

In business I have always decided that its much better to have sensibly priced work and plenty of it than a small handful of over-priced customers.

Big houses yes, but not many windows really.
Title: Re: How much would you charge on a 4 weekly

the problem you have here IMO is if you charge £60.00 and do get all five and knock them out in just over a morning mr and mrs big house aint going to like the fact that the window cleaner has just earnt £300.00 and still has some of the day left to earn more!! I know its a rock and a hard place and i'm not saying i know the solution but just raising a point.

mr and mrs big house dont like to think the window cleaner is having it off in these difficult times....i'm assuming of course they find buyers for these houses.... how much are they NWH might be interested (only joking geez!)

lol yeah i would by the sounds of it mate, the second 1 in the pic looks different to the other 1.People like this earn mega money, there bonus is 2-3 times a good anual salary and they couldn`t give a rats bum what we earn they just need to trust you and like you that`s the flat cap and roll up brigades attitude. You will be very surprised at how much these kind of people think they should pay,if i said 30-40 quid they`d think was after the family silver when they where out.

Your best bet, assuming they are new builds but already moved in, is to make a direct approach, being sure you actually speak face to face, not through an intercom at the end of the drive. It might take a few trips to be sure you're there when theyre in and able to give you a few minutes of their time.

Have some company literature, go with company uniform be polite, shaved and leave NWH in the van ;D

I have got work in the past like this from word of mouth, they tell there freinds he lets himself in he has the gate number etc when we are away and that tells them straight away they can trust me.The also love the fact that they all have the same gardeners WC`c,9 times out of 10 price is the last thing on there mind unless your seriously taking the P*** like me,no only joking price what you want mate but don`t under sell yourself remember once you`ve got em you`ve got em and there`s normally no going back,if you tell them a year later you price to cheap they`ll take that as more of a P*** take than over pricing originally.

Yes you could mate,if you get 1 you`ll get em all.

Owners of houses as shown talk to each other. NWH is right. If you get in with one, you get in with all of them. I'm the same with Doctors houses, TV presenters, pilots, etc. It's more about trusting you than the price. If you price too low they'll think you're a shady character. Be bold, price bold and stick to it. :)

I found a good advantage, On a lot of new builds I do the build/ sparkle cleans. The sparkle is great as it's a moving in clean. Because of this I get inside information and can get there first. Thats what happened there.
