Afternoon all,
I am off to price up some dining chairs(71 seat and back no arms) in an italian restaurant
I have been informed that they are quite grubby and of a suede material possibly new buck
Can you guys who are in the know give me a rough price guide for each chair
Have alredy got a price of about 1.50 per chair am I underselling myself as this should only take half a day?
Would be glad for any feedback on this
Cheers and happy cleaning
ps hope JB is on the mend

Would charge more than 1.50 per chair.
Half a day at say 4 hours! realistic rate of pay for you being £15.00 p/h that totals £60.00, travel say 1/2 hr each way another £15.00 so we are at £75.00, diesel, chemicals etc say £10.00 and that leaves £21.00 in the kitty before you take all your insurance, marketing, distributions costs in the circle.
Base it on that your are a company is the business of making money for your company outwith all direct costs and you should be targeting around 25% minimum mark up after all costs for the company.
I would be in the region of £2.35 to £3.50 per chair. cheaper for a free nosh for you and the wife on a Fri or Sat night HA HA.
Hope you get it!
Cheers

if you was at someones house for half a day cleaning carpets how much would you earn ?
there's your answer, although I think you'd be lucky to do them all in half a day. that only allows 3mins per chair without any setup/putaway time or coffee breaks.
I'd take a mate with me, pay him £30 so he can pre-spray & scrub while I extract.
I'd add this £30 onto the price.
Mike
ps I've edited this post because my first answer was a little bit blunt ::)

Doubt the chairs are in Nubuck Leather, most likely poyester suade look fabric. If they are they should wet clean no probs. Id go aminimum of £2 per chair.

Jade,
If they are nubuck which is unlikely you will not be able to wet clean.
Fake suede will wet clean but I would not sell myself short on this one.
71 chairs has got to be worth £200, afterall there's no need to rush .
Cheers,
Doug

Dining Chairs cushions only - £1.50 each
With upholstered backs extra - £1.00
With upholstered arms - extra £1.00
Stainguard - extra £2.00
Work on doing 12 - 15 per hour, but your arm will be hanging off by the end of it!!

From 70p to £3.50 depending on degree of soiling

Hi Jade
I dont think they will be nubuck
I always charge between £3 - £4 plus vat per chair but we do dry them for that price as well, as the chairs will be needed with in a few hours of them being cleaned.
You do not want people getting wet bums :o :o :o
I think you will find it will take longer than 4 hours to clean them! :-\
Thats less than four mins per chair ??? and that is if you do not stop for the whole four hours. I have not allowed any time for setting up, moving chairs around, drying, stoping to empty and fill tanks, putting everything away etc etc
This job should cost between £240 - £280 plus vat at least
Regards
Gavin
Ps myself and Mike must have been posting at the same time but what we are saying is very true 3-4 mins per chair!!!! I dont think so ???

Never believe what you are told by the customer expressly in your neck of the woods, do a survey and check their menu prices and go from there (prawn cocktail £4.50 the one I eat in is about £6.00 but I wont get that)
Who’s Eric?

THANKS LEN, YOU LIVE JUST DOWN THE ROAD FROM ME..

OH AND THE RESTAURANT IS IN HAMPSTEAD

No way those chairs are covered in nubuck, have a look at www.alcantara.it ,it's fake suede. The first time we encountered this material was in 1985 ,on the seats of a Lancia Thema, and after much deliberation discovered that you can extract the living daylight out of this fabric.

Am I? ???
Know the area, the price now goes up not due to its name Hampstead not into snobbery, but fuel and parking plus your time getting there and that’s for the survey, would estimate depending on time leaving 1 to 2 hours travelling one way and you haven’t done the job!
Re Eric did he phone you or post?

Hi Len,
I rang Darren as I thought he was too cheap, and that the material was most likely imitation.

Two of us did 85 chairs in a club the same, took from 9.30 to 4.00 @ £2.5 a chair and they were not too dirty, not like some pubs with dribble all over them!
