Title: Strange requests
Post by: M.Acorn on August 28, 2008, 04:02:32 pm
I did a clean today,1 bedrooom hall stairs and lounge £120,did the pre vac, then out with my new toy sebo duo, just about to start the cleaning and got asked if i could put up the curtain rail that the womans husband had been putting off for ages.Plasterboard walls  :( drilled 2 more holes for new raw plugs and ended up joining all 4 together into 1 big hole. Then i had a brainwave and sent custy off to home base for a length of wood to glue to wall and affix curtain rail to.Left it at that and got offered £30 for my trouble said i will only take the £10 as i didn`t actually do anything  ;D Am i too kind ? she said she will rec me to all her friends and book me again in the future  ;D
Did some work on a NATO base yesterday, never seen anything like it,was like something off men in black where i was working.i love my job

I did some work last week for an army garrison at Catterick.

hence my hse exams a couple of weeks ago  " yes they do come in handy "

I had show my pass, show my passport, sign in then drive to building dress in high vis vest , safty boots , hard hat,  and carry some goggles    to walk  about 15 yards across to where i was working , once inside i could return to my normal attire , but every time i wanted to go to van or the canteen I had the same going on.
unbelievable

Mark, maybe next time she'll ask you to "fix the sink"

;) ;) ;)

next time tell her you're a carpet cleaner and she should try and find a joiner.

things like this will bite you in the bum, I once changed a light bulb (or tried) slipped and ripped out the wiring :-\ :-\

if I had slipped landed on her and broke her back, do you think  I would have been covered by my Liability insurance?

we are there to clean, be helpful but know when to say no

I'd drill the lady herself me, through the matress, then, starch the curtains.

I replaced two light bulbs today only because the room was so dark and could'nt see what I was doing ::) thats as far as I will go!

Once asked by a regular to fix a leaking sink waste, but declined... :o

Took an old lady who I cleaned for shopping as her family could not or could not be bothered to take her.

Always a sucker for an OAP.

This one really takes the biscuit.  ::) Custy asked if i could help his naked disabled daughter out of the bath as social services hadn't turned up and the fire brigade weren't interested ??? Felt really sorry for the guy and was happy to oblige.

Gwightson, i was there for a week with Army cadets many years ago ,hours of marching on the parade ground ,day before the big parade thing we had been practising for all week did the full on assult course and ruined my ankle and got out of it.
Security was not too bad had to take my passport other than that pretty easy is a nato base though and not sure if it`s just intel or nuke still.Best not go into detail as they might come knocking, judging by the state of the computer system i saw it would not supprise me  ;D.
I have one domestic job in cambridge lady and professor nobel prize winner, i often take her shopping or to the station in my astra van,she always makes it worth my while  ;D on one occasion i had to swerve up onto a path to avoid an oncoming car,she commented on how i should be a rally driver,it`s funny driving around with a titled person in the van.especially as it`s always pretty minging in there full of paperwork etc and my vac, better than cleaning though
