Title: gutter cleaning with vac
Post by: mick hay on August 26, 2008, 09:05:25 pm
Trying to get an idea how long it would take to clean an average 3 bed semi's gutters with a guttervac, from turning up, setting up to packing away!!

Any ideas?

I dont actually have any "detailed" pictures of the trailer set up at the moment (on my to do list) but this is the trailer I bought from Ifor Williams, and use if thats any help. The trailer is  light enough to move about fully loaded so it makes positioning it and the generator really easy. Its also keeps everything dry.

In the second picture you can see my trailer but not very well I am afraid

how much was the trailer Kev?

do you have the full omnivac set up (the 4.8k one??)

The trailer cost me £800.00 almost new. I have the full Omnivac set up then some as I have quite a few custom parts for commercial gutters. I have 3 power poles, and a full wired high resolution camera system from Omnipole too.

I bought the Omnivac specifically for a service contract I have had for a fair while. It was worth the cost as the money it saves me on MEWP hire alone has paid for it. I have since got many many commercial contracts because of this machine. So for me the investment has been more than worth it.

I'm confused here!

If you look at Omnivac on their web site you'll see that the system is a flexible hose attached to a pole. The pole gets the top of the hose to where you want it and the rest of the hose just dangles down. This is what is shown on their web site. www.omnipole.com/OmniVac%20and%20OmniCam.htm

It's also what is shown on their YouTube video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=11DAhFvjho8

The pics posted here look as if the pole is a suction tube with a flexible hose on the end.

Are there two different systems - one for domestic (say 2 storey) and another for commercial (say three storey or more)?

The system with the pole as a suction hose (similar to the gutterkeeper) looks much more practical to me for domestic work.

the one in the picture which kev is using is the updated version were the suction pipe attaches itself to the bottom of the pole....the one were the pipe clips onto the outside of the pole is the mk 1 version.
