There were two things you could expect from this topic.
one was that fact that i had made a DIY gutter lance,
the other that i need one to be built or how to do it
unfortunately it is the latter
I have a job coming up in September lots of gutters to clean out, on a reasonable sized house,
now i have a Honda pressure washer and all the rigmarole, but what i need is a gutter lance, now it got me thinking i dont want to spend 100 quid on a pole etc etc, when i already have the pole triggers hose etc, why cant i just make one
so please jeff, discount wally, can you think of anything i can do

The first thing you need is a nice long lengh of high pressure hose with a 22mm fitting at one end and off the top of my head I can't think of the size but to fit your trigger,
Then you need an end again off the top of my head, another 22mm male fitting to fit the gutter tool and jets in (available from northerntool I imagine)
By the time you have bought all this and a decent pole, it would probablly be cheaper to buy a second hand one (one in the buy and sell section on this forum for around £80)
If you still want to build your own here is a picture of mine, maybe you can see how it looks.

well i have the pole, my facelift,
trigger, hose,
i also have a spare lance, can i bend this round so it sprays into the gutter?

Some of them are stainless steel and can buckle when cold bending, it would take some heating to get a good bend.
What type of end does your lance have? does it have the removable Jet one?? If so look on Northerntools site for the gutter cleaner, that costs around £10 and it will just snap into the end.

i was thinking of bending with the thing plumbers using and putting that flexible steel coil inside to get a good bend

It would have to be a 15mm internal tube to get those springs inside it.
The bender might work and may be worth a try.

I shall probably buy one, what are they £100?
I've said before I don't believe in diy if good equipment already exists. I was very anti harris poles for that reason.
But i admitt i wouldn't know how to make one anyway.

ive done it, it was about 5 years ago, i was asked to clean the gutters out on a 3 storey OAP home
here is what i had
a UNGER 3 X 3M ali pole
a bracket ( they sell them in B&Q and focus ) they are used to hang things on in the garage, they come with a red plasitc end cap, do a search on the B&Q site for 0000003599211, i drilled a extra hole on the pole and bolted it on, its as solid as you can get
a pressure washer drain rod kit attachment, mine was 15 M long, which was great, its a pipe with a presure tip on the end that you can feed down blocked drains, i zip tied mine to the pole and the bracket to form a angle, zip tie it about 1 inch from the end, the bracket slides along the gutter and the washers blasts out the dirt
it worked well and the price was nice, the pressure washer drain kit was 30 quid, the bracket was 3 quid with a few quid for some bolts

yes it does
i just held the pole and gave it a rinse down, it wasnt ideal though, but i wasnt going to climb to the gutters on a ladder ;)
