Title: Van Protectakote
Post by: jeff1 on August 20, 2008, 09:44:58 pm
Went with my daughter today to pick up her new van, I would like to protectakote the back, so can anyone point me in the right direction for the quickest place for delivery for the kit as I would like to do it over the bank holiday week-end.

Cheers Dean
She got what she wanted in the end and that was the Expert, 150 mile round trip with her today. does the protectakote need to be thinned first then Dean? I don't just want to order the kit to find out later it needs thinners.
Thanks for the advice. ;)

I dont know if it needs to be thinned i just did as i wanted it to go further as i did a Transit van and didnt want to run out i also did it on a cold day and found it was quite thick to work with also you need to stir it well to evenly distribute the rubber particles and keep doing it

do a search on -  new venture products
It does not need thinners
4ltr kit is plenty for 2/3 coats
Go for the UVR ones they are harder wearing.
I have done three vans now and best colour IMO
is the blue.
Make sure you have a mask it hums for 48-72hours plus
and you can get as high as a kite :o ;D

I got mine from purefreedom.co.uk in blue.

easy to apply brush the edges then dip the roller straight in the tin took the first coat to figure that out, second went down in no time, defop make sure you wear gloves this stuff is a nightmare to get off your hands, heres a pic of mine
