Title: commercial / shops. what is it worth poll.
Post by: tradman on August 19, 2008, 10:02:51 pm
i have about £500 per 4 weeks of shops / commercial work. the shops are fortnightly. all done trad. one contact is a well known leader who has promised further work. just out of curiosity what's it worth if i decided to sell?

i had my thread hijacked and ended up with such range of prices so poll seemed an option. please be honest as it is part of my living

cheers

How long does the work take to do on the days it`s done.

fortnights takes about 1 n half hour (2 men). all lots done in day, thats trad, the blocks of flats easily done with with wfp, but shop fronts best of ext pole. all pubs n shops park outside. f/night £127, monthly £332.

Are you saying it all gets done in 1 day a month,it would make a big difference in price.
Title: Re: commercial / shops. what kind of ratio to sell?nr leeds
Post by: tradman on August 19, 2008, 10:13:23 pm
2 days, as 1.5hrs for fortnights, then full day for all, but i'm a grafter n pretty quick, but wfp would easily make up for that (blowing my trumpet i know but just fact..lol)

Hard to say without seeing it,got to be worth 10k.If you could do that work in 1 day it would be worth more.

sorry? but 10k is that for real. just to clarify it is only £500 per 4 weeks not every week, perhaps i haven't explained it properly.

but is 5 cleans a realistic price, no idea really as got it as part of another round, it keeps expanding and its not really my cup of tea as i like to work with pods in my ears n do house after house.

most people on here have different ideas on how much you multiply it, half the rounds i have bought have been by a multiple of ten to the fortnightly income from the work, the other half has been stupidly cheap because the guy's ive bought them from havnt got a clue what they have got (the worth)..  i would say 7 or 8 grand because they are shops and commercial and can generally be done a lot quicker thean residential...

its only 1 day a month though?? surely its worth it by the sounds of it for 500??

i wouldnt pay 10,000 for it because 500 per day for 2 men isnt uncommon...  im not saying its bad either.. but i would say it would be worth more than 10 times the 2 weekly worth because its easy work.

sorry sean, what do you mean, its only worth 500 or its worth 5 cleans. mbs not willing to divulge area unless i decide to sell as like i say it keeps expanding without even asking so if i don't sell, i want to keep. didn't realise commercial / shops / pubs worth more than domestic. am i naive?

bit off topic fellas...thought ronnie corbett was in the house...lol. please tho stop hijacking my thread for arguing. so depending on quality of work it's worth in theory between 2.5k to 6k. any chance of a narrower price range or is it really dependent on what want to pay etc etc

The trouble around here is that everybody and his dog thinks shops are the mutts nutts for some reason? Because of this the prices have been kept low for years. Also this is an old market town and the shop fronts are antiques so they take time. One local chap walks around all afternoon looking for business because he loves shops, recently he quoted a job way below what I would do it for - I know all his shops are too cheap - he would make more money from houses - but he can't see that?

I am a commercial window cleaner and shops are not worth the effort here for me. I have three shops in total, but I also have the buildings above with the shop so they are worth it, but still £200 in three hours- quite simply no.  ;)

shop fronts what i was doing were so easy and some of the prices were low bu they were all next too each other, some just one big window and door £3, i can easily do that in under a minute... soaking and squeegying at the same time..

Ok £200 in 3 hours - thats £66.66 per hour = 22.22 shops @ £3 per shop = 22 shops divided by 60 mins = 2.72mins per shop - no chance even on a good day  ;)

and if i can say i can do a £3 shop in under 1 minute where do you get those calculations from, surely at that rate it would be £180 per hour

Im not saying its completely impossible it just you would have to be in a prim location with little or no competition to undercut you. It would take years to build and you would have to be really well known. every shop would have to be next door to each other

All Im saying is its unlikely  ;)

I voted Stupid money,

I have offered a local guy near me 1 years turnover on his shops, but will he sell, not a chance.

They are worth that much to me and more because they knit in so tightly with my work.
