Title: Ionics multipole double trim brush
Post by: Oakley Windows on August 19, 2008, 06:01:50 pm
Anyone used one?

Mine arrived today, IMO a complete and utter waste of 30 quid.

They look like the type i had when I got my multipoles 2.5 years ago and I found them rubbish! I had just started my biz then so didnt have a great deal of customers but the brushes only lasted a few months before the ends just flatened and mushed up. I changed then for Vikam brushes and they are still going strong.
I will never buy those brushes again

Matt did u get the crinkle filament, by that I mean are the bristle crinkly. If so then yes a load of c***

The new multipole brush is very good IMO and quite a few others. If its the old one send it back and get the new version.

Dip it in hot water and then look and feel the bristles, there totally different. They were made and designed with hot in mind, but if you have cold they`ll still sell it to you lol. ;D ;D ;D

its a good brush with cold water but it takes a few weeks for the bristles to soften up a bit. great for rinseing on the glass.

The only prob I have with this brush is on leaded windows, it tends to bounce around a bit. If I was using hot then I dont think this would be a problem. But overall and especially on heavy first cleans it's the dogs danglers.

Its a straight bristle, completely, very full head also. Looks like it'll do a good job sweeping a yard, very very stiff.

Cant send it back, re-jetted it, they wont have that Im sure, put in some fans.

I`ve had 1 for well over a year and it`s no softer it might be a bit in the hot sunlight but that`s only when it feels slightly softer, like i say it`s designed for hot.

An autobrush? Like it, the Salmon. Splayed a little too much in fact, trimmed bristle length down lovely brush now, like it, scrubs well, splays just good amount, not too much and enough for corners,  just friggin heavy  :(

i have a couple of multipole brushes and decided today to get rid off them as there to stiff and seem to scratch over the glass rather then scrub, i done a job today ,1st clean in 3 years, gave them loads and could still see scratch lines

i have always used ionics old style commercial brushes with no problems but these residentials are no good, the new style commercial brush has the same bristles which also didnt clean the windows very well

im going to try one of alex's superlites & a tucker but the facelift is also supposed to be pretty good

That doesnt surprise me at all Steve, thats exactly how Id have expected it to clean, leaving scratch marks in the muck, far too stiff.

I thought you thought those Tuckers were too expensive, I can see me going down there (theyre only 3 miles from me) and getting one on me birthday, when I can get a decent set of fans  ;)

Hoping theres something in the post so far as that is concerned from Monseigneur Gardiner  ;)

Tucker brushes are so good on plate glass it`s silly, can be a bit bumpy on leads but get a single trim 1 for them. They clean so so well you will see the difference straight away compared to other brushes,it`s the bench mark.

So where is the best place to buy a tucker and some jets to fit it?

So where is the best place to buy a tucker and some jets to fit it?

Tuckers are sold by AFD Aquafactors, only 3 miles from me.

If they take a 12mm jet then Alex does them as well as window cleaning warehouse, the holes in the tucker brush are pre-drilled dont know exactly what diameter they are, probably irrelevant, as you can always re-drill alongside.

Aquafactors basingstoke, you will need bolts jets they sell them to and you need to make sure when you speak to the no nothing women on the phone that you want just bolt jets and not a whole head assembly. The 12" double trim are the 1`s i use and the single trim is better for leads and small panes.

I wouldn`t re drill you`ll ruin it,you don`t need to just buy 2 bolt jets.

I trimmed out the centre bristles to try to encourage it to splay, but still no luck, so its been 'modified', if its suitable for you then thats my good deed for the day.

I learnt something anyway, so no worries, you may find its crud as well  ;D

Don't believe I just said that !
