Title: Help inside window
Post by: seandyer2003 on August 19, 2008, 02:39:35 pm
Just had a call from a chap in a posh inner city apartment, hes moving out and needs windows cleaning.

Two of them however are about 10 ft high and start 6 ft up from floor, so top is 16 ft.

It is also a fake inside window, so there is an external one to clean plus both sides of this internal one, Wondering whether i can use a ladder? Not looked at it yet this is just from phone call, looking tommorow after work, maybe could use a harris pole with trad tools on for the top??

What you reckon? weird one innit?

sqeegee on the end of a pole , use the widest you have, then wrap a scrim around the head and wipe down after that ( it will get rid of any lines )

with a bit of practise you can get them good

thts what i thought only problem is the other sides of these fake/external windows, whether i can get at them with a pole, otherwise might be a case of getting hands round ???

Have to wait and see, but its getting the height if that is the case.

Could be messy using a pole, chances are he will be having the carpets cleaned at the same time

yep matt has it spot on, you may find it hard and bothersome if possible to use a ladder, use a pole, i have done many like that , as said lay down a sheet of plastic, i use some lino with carpet stuck to it underneath for extra safty of stray water, do more than once if you need to, all the best

Use WFP inside! I'm serious - I have before :)

Soak the brush in pure water... Bring the pole inside, extend it and scrub the window with the brush - Then when the brush is dry (or almost) place a scrim over it and dry the window.
