I`ve noticed that the shurflo pump on one of my vans is pulsing, I also remember reading that a few of you had the same problem! - can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?
-
i had this the other day...
-
Could be air or a leak somewhere.
-
Its not an air leak as I`ve taken it out the van and tested it in the workshop - 1 meter of hose on the inlet & 1meter of hose on the outlet - I wonder if the pressure setting is to low ( the allen key on top of pump )

when you say "pulsing" do you mean when flow is off or when floww is on ???
if its when flow is off this is cycling and is caused by a leak of water somewhere in system so pressure drops and pump takes up "slack" if its intermittent flow problem then adjust vari/check pressure switch depending on setup

Its when the pump is on

Connection alright is it.
-
its all connected fine - but i am now starting to think it might be the flowmaster (again) - is anyone using the controller+ that cleaning spot supply with the charger built in to it?
-
dont know about flowmaster
a badly set up varistream does the same thing tho

Now you`ve said that i`ve had the same problem and it was the reason i changed to a varistream,it ended up blowing up 3 fuses and 2 flow controllers,i think it`s the voltage or amp of the pump that`s not compatible with the controller.

Charge your battery properly. Could be another thing to check.
-
For the last reason i suggested shurflo have now changed there pumps to run with the varistream because it was giving these problems.
-
If I find it is the flowmaster causing the probs then I might even go back to the diverter valve setup as I has no problems with that setup! its since ive been using controllers that Im getting all these problems - Im on my 5th controller in 3 years!
-
Can`t you just by pass the flow master and then you`ll know.
-
yes I will be testing the pump on its own in the morning - I know its not the battery its giving a reading of 13.1 volts!
-
had this problem twice myself changed pressure switch on the pump and now works fine bought a couple as spares and then found out all you need to change is a small part in the switch that costs about 50p will be buying some of them
-
If you need the pressure switch remove it from the pump , then just go to Maplins and match it to their microswitch which is just over £1.
-
good idea - cheap as chips!
