i have bought about 5 times and never got them to sign anything, this sort of thing always goes through your head and  there is nothing you can do about it if he does decide to change his mind and want it back (well i dont think there is).... i have never had a problem but i have always insisted i work it with them also ,recently a guy sold his round near where i work and tried to sell at least 30 of my houses with his work.. fortunately he never got any of them...

i would work it first too, or collect with him, to prove their his customers, i had a guy try claim one of my biggest houses because the chap who sold round to him said it was part of the sale!!

Going to meet each customer is good but I always work the first clean with buyers to make the change over as easy as possible for all concerned.

First round I bought was from someone I new well and his son was going to continue working for me but still got him to sign a contract to say he would not start a business in the same area again within 3 years.

I used the same contract for the second round I bought but did not know him so paid half up front and went round with him on first clean before he got the second half.

Happy to sent you a copy if you email me.

Thats nothing to do with patches- Its a standard business practice to get a contract signed stating they wont try and steal your customers for a set period. If the seller wanted he could return to the same area but not to the same customers.

I have bought quite a few rounds over the years. I agree a price with the seller and then arrange to knock on as many houses we can in an evening and tell the custys the situation. Confirm with the custys price and how often they have them done. Never had a problem with this method and the money from the first clean is all yours ;). Make sure that you pick the houses to call on and not him. ive hads guys try and sell me houses that they didnt do, any confusion or it doesnt feel right i just tell them no deal.

ive allways worked the round once, you get to meet some of the customers, you get  50 % of the clean off the bill, you get the knowledge that the guy isnt trying to pull a fast 1

I have bought and sold a few rounds now, and never have I worked with anyone I have sold to nor would I unless they paid upfront, then I would taek them to watch while I earnt them money from it, same as rounds I have bought, I have gone round to every house with the seller if in explained to them, if out letter was posted, there is always a risk when buying a round even if you see everyone,

I have bought two lots of work. In both cases I just went round with the seller to meet all of the customers and have not had any problems.

Also i dont agree on patches and there will already be cleaners in these roads but im not going to buy something for him to come back after 4 months and decide to knock on all his old custys doors to say he is back and start doing them again.
