Title: School Quote
Post by: Jago on August 14, 2008, 08:09:39 pm
Hi all got to give a quote for a school
all windows are accessable although large
260 of themin total and they have not been done for a year or two.

I think it will take a solid day by myself but could take a day and a half on the safe side.
me and another easy one day
If I got to do the insides I think it will be 2- 3 days etc etc
How much you think.?
cheeky I know but
Just want to see if I am wide of the mark

Many Thanks J

£300 for a day and half?

just becuase your day rate is 200 doesnt not mean your half day is 300, its actually £150

for that i think you should be quoting 450,

for 30p/h ladder work you can easily up this to min 40/ph and then at 12 hours work is £480 not far off it the whole thing take from leaving your house day one at 8am then getting home again on day two or next job at 12pm

i think thats fair, besides they havnt been done in a year, you think your gonna do them again within the year?

inside is time and a half, plus it will be trad so it has to be more so, £750 inside, and £450 outside is £1200

cheaper than NWH so they will go with me  :P

We do abig ish school.  outside only £400.   i know if I presented a quote in the thousands they would just laugh at me.  Most schools are on a really tight budget for things like this.

Jago.   Go with what you are happy to earn.  Always add about 20 % on again for unforseen problems.

i'd say that was about right about £400 for a day and half on your own, you tell them 1300 and they will tell you where to go....

thats rubbish that if a quote is in the thousands they wont take it if the work warrants it ...then fair enough i do a school every year 488 windows £1425 with a 8% increase each year.

takes 3 days

just quote what suits you

but he says there are 250 big window, no i dont know how big these windows are but im assuming that by saying they are big, they are big and bigger than normal windows,

now bigger means long so you have to spend more time, time is money etc etc etc
