I'm not surprised the customer was over the moon.  You achieved an excellent result there.

One thing that has been bothering me though is just how much pre-spray to use.  I'm guessing you all vary the amount depending on the level of soiling but is it possible to put any kind of number on it (ie 1 litre per 10 square feet)?

It all depends on what you are using, of course you use more on the dirty traffic areas.  Just lay some down and feel it with your hand.  You want enough for all fibers to be covered but not overwet  ;)
