I would like to run my merlin ro from a garage at a friends where I store an old car but there is no room for a static tank. My van would be parked on the road and I would like to run the pure water supply only out to it ie: waste would run straight to drain or garden. I dont want the ro on board the van because I dont want waste water hose running out onto pavement/road visible to neighbours / passers by. Can I fit a float stop valve to my vans tank if i had to leave it unattended and would this shut the ro down if it was still connected to a mains tap ? oh and if so what do I need to buy ?
Thanks
Simon

The only trouble with using a float valve is when your water level drops and water supply starts to kick in your tds level will be high for about 5 litres,i always drain off first 5 litres before i start to fill my static tank ;)

Yes you can use a ball valve with a merlin it has internal pressure switchs which means you are able to put a float switch/ball valve on the pure water outlet with no problems.

Yea, I've seen that, had it like at 143 Tds, normally comes out of RO at 20, didn't know what the heck went wrong, never paid attention to that, what I do is I flush it a couple of minutes before every fill, seems to work for me.
