Hi,
I am in the process of starting a new cleaning & maintenance company.
Offering the following services:
Pressure Washing & Sealing
Window Cleaning
Gutter Clearing & Cleaning
Carpet Cleaning
I am designing a flyer at the moment & I am thinking of either A5 130 gsm or A4 300 gsm. Both will be double sided full colour gloss.
I have a couple of questions that people in here should be able to help me with from experience.
1) What type of flyer would you recommend for the best response ?
2) Do you think that I should put minimum prices on the flyer ?
I would welcome any other comments or advice.
Thanks in advance.
Andy

Hi hotsteam,
Sorry, when I say I am designing a flyer I mean that I am getting a graphic designer to do it for me.
I am telling him what text & pictures I want & letting him do his thing.
I was thinking of getting them 300 gsm full colour & gloss both sides. I think these will stand out from the usual flyers & hopefully people might be a bit more reluctant to throw them out. They might even use them to pick up their rubbish with. You know when you sweep up & you cant find the dust pan & you end up looking for some type of card (birthday, Christmas) Ha, Ha.
As long as I get a good response from them I dont mind.
I have got a price of £365 for 10,000 & £35 for the design.
Let me know what you think.
Any comment will be welcomed.
Thanks,
Andy

Andy sorry my comment was that people think anyone can design a leaflet.
The cost of a descent graphic design is nothing to the other costs involded
e.g 20,000 170 gm A4 colour both sides folded to 1/3 A4, say £400 then disribution of leaflet £25/40 per thousand so at least £500.
when you think you have found someone you can trust to distribute them check them out with previous custumers and tell them you will check on their distribution and if you are not satified payment will not be made.
best of luck Hotsteam

I have always found that A4 and even A5 are too big for people to keep, we do A6 postcard size on 300g card, full gloss double sided. I often find them stuck on peoples pin boards in houses, even business cards are excellent as many people have holders for these and will file them away.

DP Design and print are one of the best places to try for flyers. Free design, good prices and quality but check the proof carefully for errors before you order. Mark does a lot of flyers for cleaners and is very helpfull if you don't mess him about. www.cheapleaflets.net

I have always designed my own and find a5 is good for one sided but a6 if you want them double sided. Try not to cram too many pictures in keep it simple you want to sell your info more than the graphics. Good luck :)

Totally agree. Ours are postcard size and similar thickness. Apart from the fact that people are more inclined to save them, this size and grammage makes them easy to drop through letter boxes.

Hi Airways I have distributed over 500,000 flyers over the last two years and have some experience of what works best through trial and error if you do big flyers i.e. A4 you will get less response you have to keep the them short and sweet and to the point! use A6 take your time to think of how you will benefit the customer. To get any kind of worth while response I need to do 10,000 a week but I am in central London and every letterbox says "no junkmail" Maybe in your part of the UK people do not get bothered to much! The best man you can talk to is Mark DP Design and Print in Hull they will design and print for a much better price than you have been quoted! Tell him the guy from CleenCo told you to call and he will look after you! hope this helps

How do you get 10,000 leaflets a week delivered? Who does them for you? What is the response rate? I thought we did alot of leafleting but nothing compared to you guys.
