Hi everyone,
got a major problem...I clean 2 new build houses to day which had lead windows, the first house the owner asked me to used water only! The second a mixure of fairy and glass gleam...on the second house it was going fine until the last two windows I was applying water and squeging off the excess and buffing up the window with a microfibre. Seconds later there was a white smear all over the windows I as hard as I tried it would not go! Can anyone tell me why this is?? I feel awful about this as they are a good customer!! Many thanks, Henry

might be some glue residue or mastic ,try some meths or something similar
with a clean micro,

cheers mike,
The lady rang me back and she was more worried I had not been paid. Please can you share with me the technique you use? Do you just use a damp cloth or dap the applicator on each square and buff - etc??
will try meths, wont damage the window in any way will it??
cheers henry

hi henry
meths will not damge the glass.
use 1 clean cloth for meths etc & 1 clean cloth to buff
i must admit ,i have not come across this problem myself, thankfully :)
good luck & let us know how you get on

Could it be a reaction with the lead, perhaps it's not good quality or just that you were cleaning something off the lead.
