Finally got round to working out how to backflush the merlin today. The unit is just over 2 years old, produced a tds of 30 when new ( my supply is very high though, about 350 - 400) It had risen to 42, have just changed pre filter and backflushed for 20 mins with pure from vans tank through di, read the waste a few times until it was down to 000. Re-assembled it all and initially it was producing 32 but has now risen back to 42. Have I backflushed long enough? if not how long? or is it more likely, as I suspect, that the membranes are gradually deteriorating ?
Thanks
Simon

2 years of good use? If I were you I'd forget about flushing and just buy a couple a new membranes, they're only £66 each. Merlin needs two of em I think.
After all, thats a running cost of ...£1.27 per week
BARGAIN!

cheers tennet, yeh i get what your saying, I will buy new membranes, had just wondered if I'd flushed it long enough, had i have done this earlier and more routinely then maybe its performance may have been better. Had searched back through posts for info on flushing and thought of the members on here with merlin ro's someone may have been able to answer the question for me.
Cheers anyhow
