I don't think this one's going to meet the reserve!

Post by: Jim_77 on August 09, 2008, 04:40:04 pm
It looks well-used, yes!

He's started the auction off at £4,500 so presumably the reserve is a bit above that.

The van's not worth a lot because it'll need a fair amount spending on it to tidy it up and get it presentable.  So the majority of the price is for the machine, which I think is only about 7.5k brand new?

I don't think there's going to be a bidding war on this

2nd hand TM's like that are worth £2k no more IMO.

from the amount of information he's put down you can see how he's got is price, he thinks everything is of value,

in his mind he's telling himself......

 'the waste & fresh  tanks cost  2 grand, there's a £300 wand, there's a £400 hose reel, £150 vac hose £300 of chemicals, £300 joiner fitted shelves, etc..etc..etc' it must be worth at least £4500 ::) ::)

but its like putting a £1000 radio in a £500 car, the cars won't sell for £1500, its still only worth £500.

he should split it all up and sell it separately, he'll get more

Cant see it only having done 340hrs, must have gone round the clock. Also if he's gonna sell it why didnt he clean the carpet in the back? - he's got the equipment to do it for gods sake!

Amazing how many are abandoning truckmounts for return to portys. Five companies near me ahve sold or are selling their truckmounts. Only problem is...  many have worked their business on being 10 times more powerful than an electic porty, so who's going to get egg on face when they walk through ther door wih a... Porty

Joe, probably fed up of answering this ;D How's the TM going?

Yeah I can't find it.

Joe, probably fed up of answering this ;D How's the TM going?

Anything for you Mike (well not "anything" if you know what I mean ;))

Getting on great with it.
That Prochem Blazer Plus is basically the same machine I have - 18hp Briggs & Stratton engine, tho mine goes to 1000psi (and maybe that one does but he was "guessing" when he wrote the ebay adv.)
Funnily enough, he says carb wants adjusting.
So does mine - too rich IMO. Pull the choke out, starts stright away but I have to shove the choke in quick or it stalls - to me that means over rich.

I bought a Hydramaster metered sprayer off Dave Roelants couple months back and use the TM or my Scorpion at 300psi with whatever I prespray with (what I use depends on the state of the carpet - you know what I mean with commercial stuff).

Remember my problem was with the hose management - 2" suction hose not too much problem but the solution hose has a bigger mind of its own. Coiling this by hand when the hose is still hot makes it easier, so does laying it out in a straight line (not always practical).

Re cleaning fluids, I use various stuff depending on the severity of the job (like us all no doubt) but what I am finding good is M-Power, left to dwell after agittation, set up machine whilst dwelling, then a light mist on the traffic areas (fronts of settees/door entrances etc) with Solutions Heavy Duty microsplitter (the old Number 9 bettered) just before extraction.

It's back again, finishes in half hour, down to 3.5k.

Looks like the guy who got it for 4k ran a mile when he saw it   :-\

Before I even scrolled down I knew it would say....

Re-listed due to TIMEWASTER.

I think the chickens living in it are extra ;D

Even at £3k I bet you have to spend another 2k on van and machine.

I think Rabby is having the same problem, the history is the thing that people are scared about. Not knowing about this TM with its low hours but used look is off putting, Rabby's on the other hand has been passed around like an orphan so buyers are put off from it.

With a porti it is cheap to fix and most of us have had portis to fix anyway, a TM 2nd hand is usually for an upgrade from a porti so the buyer is infact in the dark.

Personally if you are at the stage where you are looking to get a TM to cope with extra work I would get a new one, put £2k down and pay the rest over 4 years or something, after having 2nd hand TM's I feel the new TM  route (unless you are a mechanical whiz) is the way to peaceful sleep and profitable days.

People think its a lemon, If I was selling I'd offer to deliver it and give a days training on the machine or lets them come here and work with the machine.

if It runs perfect for a day then it's Ok.

If you look at the picture of the wheel arch there is some rust OK, but look at the tyre! Its nearly bald!!!!!!!! What are the rest like?

And in the questions section he says you can have it hand hot or up to 65 degrees. WOW that is hot.
