reel in van and definitely locked as there is too many tea leaves around. I've already had 2 people try and break into it with no luck. I'd put them in hospital if I caught them, wouldn't wait for the police, theyre a joke.

i have a hole cut in the side of the van fitted with roller bearing to guide hose i can pull up outside a job take the pole off the roof rack and start work straight away with locked doors. no packing up or setting up i can pull up clean a 4 bed house and be driving off inside 12 mins!

Down here in Cornwall, we never worry about locking the vehicle!
I always have the reels out of the vehicle as it allows for maximum flexibility in reeling out. The hose linking to the reels are long enough to allow the reel to go either side of the vehicle for reeling out in any direction with minimum effort. I use lightweight 100m reels so lifting is not a problem.

Which ones are those Alex? Are they the plastic ones? :)

Hi Tim,
Yes these are the Hozelock Plastic and galvanised reels. I have just changed them after 7 years, so I cannot complain about their longevity!
They do leak slightly at the connection, but as I use them out of the vehicle this is never a problem. I have a custom made drip tray for the two of them to sit in in the vehicle. The reel with hose on only weighs slightly more than one of the metal reels with no hose on!
When I change vehicles soon I may try out a pair of Cox reels, maybe even the electric ones.

(thanks for your reply Alex)

MoemGorod - it looks like one of your reels is bolted down and facing side ways,do you have to un reel it by hand 1st ?
-
My guess is that it exits through the side door over the tank.
