Title: Leaflet response rates
Post by: Chris G on August 04, 2008, 10:58:30 am
Just going to put 500 leaflets out and was wondering what sort of a response rate I might have.
What sort of percentage response have you received from your leafletting?

Thanks,
Chris.

You may put them out and get alot of responses but I have found that over the last 2 years and 20k leaflets 0.5% is about the average for me but you may get lucky with those 500 and get 10 or more....

Cheers
Dave.

I would say better than 1% over the years. I haven't delivered a single leaflet this year but I am still regularly getting phone calls.

Don't just deliver 500 though, the way to leaflet is in bulk.

Chris instead of just dropping the leaflet - knock the doors and introduce yourself - you will get a much better response.

As others have said, the response rates are low.  However, I reckon that each leaflet dropped earns about £1 per year on the turnover.  Of course that is an average based on dropping numbers of them.  On your 500 you may get more or you may get less.  I reckon that if you were to put out a few thousand, my figure wouldn't be too far wrong once you had allowed a few months to elapse.

it depends on the area! if the area you drop leaflets in is saturated with cleaners already then you aren't going to get much back apart from the customers they dont want(bad payers, moaners etc) if they are desperate for a window cleaner you will get loads of calls.

I usually drop on a road i dont think there is anyone, i knock on a door where it looks like someone is in, ask if they have a cleaner, then post away.

But you are much more likely to get customers door knocking, the response is 100%!! YES or NO! And you will pick up far more than you ever would with a leaflet, think about how many leaflets you have responded too in your home, very few no doubt.
Ive never had a negative response knocking for window cleaning, people say we've got a cleaner/ we do our own, or yes we need a cleaner!
