jesus that looks hard work. wonder how hight that is
-
Maybe 55-60ft? but I wouldnt want to lift it that way!!! Luke
-
I found that hard work just watching and while he was lifting it i thought it would snap or put the brush through a window the bend on that pole was scary
-
:o
-
What is that guy up to ? :o
-
HHHHEEEEAAAAAAVVVVVEEEEEE
-
that pole looks like a rubber band sod that.
-
Thought it was a skipping rope,
-
he is using the brand new super lead brush ;D
-
it really looks like a string of spaghetti.
do people still buy tucker poles?
-
why is he putting it up like that? is it telescopics?
-
It's a new sport for the Olympics. The winner is the one who can get the pole vertical with the heaviest brush on the end.
-
jesus thought he was going to put it through the window
the way that pole bent :o
alex you should email him about the new pole m8 you might get a sale ;D ;)
-
to be fair to him though
he did clean the windows ( which is afterall what he was paid to do ) AND was safe in that he didnt use ladders
lets not knock the guy too much

That's the correct way to put the pole up as advised by Tucker poles. I would put a Tucker pole up like that if I was only going to 35ft as it's very easy and quicker. Any higher than that and I would extend the rest using the wall/windows to extend the pole. It's easier and quicker to put any 6ft+ telescopic pole up like that safely up to 40ft, than extending it up the wall unless it's a modular pole. :)
Would like to add, the longer the pole to extend using that method of raising a pole... the more it will bend, (even carbon fibre poles bend, though not as not much). The pole in that video has to be about 60ft I would say judging by the bend shown. I've uesd a Tucker pole at 60ft and it's extremely hard work, harder than using an Ionics ergolite at that height for two reasons. 1. because the pole bends so much and 2. because it's the heaviest at that height.

Would a Tucker have to be put up like that because the clamps are not exactly quick release too?
-
At least the guy is safe, ;D

When I was looking at Wfp systems 6 years back tucker really banged on about how their poles had this special flex that helped with cleaning. They also recommend that their poles should be lifted this way. It just shows you that you should never listen to just one supplier. Some of the tucker poles are 12 foot closed so would need to be lifted as shown unless you are exceptionally tall.
