I've heard you should soak your brush in pure water overnight.
How many people do soak it overnight? Does it really make much difference? Or am I just lazy?
-
I do not think I have soaked or cleaned my brushes out for months...thats lazy...but I have vowed to do it more regulary......
Dave.

Never done it in 8 years and never had a proplem.

A year 18months ago there was abit of a theme going on about cleaning out brushes
in all sorts of stuff someone even suggested Milton
But I thnk was a bit of an eliteist thing 'my ideas better than your's '
It never lasted though ;)

Every Saturday
Clean Van - Clean Poles - Leave Brushes in bowl of Pure water. Replace brushes on poles when filling tank on Sunday evening, ready for work Monday morning.
Don't know if this makes any difference to the brush but they still look nice and fresh. Definately recommend cleaning the pole each week, they get full of crap. and obviously a dirty van doesn't say a lot about the business.
Just a routine I've had since week 1 :)

there is NO point, a good brush cleans itself. Luke
-
The only time I would do this is if there was an grease on the brush, or other substance that isn't water soluble.
-
Well if it wasn't for my son playing on his PS3 I would now be playing with the new SL brush from Alex. Only he had his headphones on and didn't hear the postman. Have to wait 48 hrs to collect from sorting office..... Kids ::)
I feel like a kid on Christmas Day with no batteries for is main toy :'(
To be honest the flocked brushes (Vikan) do get a build up of bits over the week so dont think it does any harm. My Mono (ionics) doesn't really need it but it goes in the bowl anyway.

Likewise except it's under 3 years. I will flick the bristles with my fingers while the water is running if there's a build up of bits though.
-
I remove the obvious dirt as I see it (cobwebs etc). Flick it with the water running regularly and have a bucket with pure water in it that I put the brushes in in between jobs. As for the comment "there is NO point, a good brush cleans itself." ha ha ha. Is it a cat ???

I used to do this but gave up after I noticed that the way the packing list/invoice gets folded and put in the clear envelope means that the parcel guys cant see the special instructions let alone act on them
-
I thought it came up on there digital hand held things

I wasnt aware of that , maybe they just never looked at mine then
-
Never done it since starting wfp. Decent brush cleans itself during usage.
-
So going with the majority thats a NO then.
Been getting spotting lately and thought might have been brush.
-
I did when i first changed over but i don't think i have done in the last 3 years or so.
If it get bits in whilst im working turn on flow and flick the brush sorted.
-
What type of brush are you using Mono or Flocked?
If using flocked and cleaning say con roofs and using TFR then keep a seperate brush for this type of cleaning.
I still think a good soak for flocked brushes is good practise.
