the original kit I bought had a oval mono Vikan 11" - 2 Years I have used the oval until this morning _ sired sitting out side a site I decided to swap my brushes over - so changed to a rectangle vikan & hated it - didn`t splay open like the the oval does - but I hear people hate the oval - why?
-
Never used one but i would guess there is little scrubbing power at the edges.
-
Know what you mean but the oval burried it self in the window - and the rectangle seamed to skate aroung on top of the glass
-
Depends on the window. I use a rectangular nearly all the time, as i do a lot of sash windows and the oval doesn't get into the corners well (pointed out to me someone on here when I started - thanks ;)). I like my oval for conservatories better. If I could only have one brush, it would have to be rectangular. Does everything IMO

Try a flocked square 1 and then compare it to the oval, with an oval brush your almost forced into cleaning frames and a lot of guys don`t like having to do frames every time.A square brush allows you to do glass only and makes cutting into the corners easier.
-
If the square brush isnt splaying like the rectangular one, its something to do with bristle length probably and/or dual or single trim.
-
what!
-
A dual trim brush is likely to splay easier, a shorter bristled brush is less likely to splay as well.
A poof wielding a mans brush is never going to get it to splay either ;)

Here we go, i'll just get a coffee a minute!

the vikan rectangle you are using is of medium stiffness i use both but prefer the rectangle for 90% of my work prefer the oval for gutters and fascias as i like the red rubber strip wish the rectangles had it

i must admit i like my oval brushes compared to others ive got
its what i got used to when first used wfp and know cleaning
windows with that shaped brush like its second nature.whenever
i try anything else i never feel quite comfortable with it.

i decided to go for a rectangle from an oval and thought it was better but last week i got oil on my rectangle and it wouldnt come off so i went back to oval and i have to say it you have far more control over the oval than the rectangle... the rectangle just feels like its not doing much where the oval gets right in the corners (easily) oval everyday...
