I think most of the people on here are seeing the credit crunch. Its too bad to say "nope we are seeing more work than ever" I think if they say similar they are trying to keep a brave face. Not let other know. But you dont want the competition knowing. Right!

And lets face it.. like it or not we are all competitors to each other on this forum.

I have seen many firms making redundancies, closing branches forming into one, etc the list goes on.

However I mainly have Contract cleaning, so I am lucky to say the only thing I have noticed are the lack of new customers at pesent. But it is July and August.. which in the commercial sector I would say is normal.

After August hopefully it will pick up again..

i am down on calls but the average job ticket has gone up, so i am doing less work for the same money.
Saying that i am always quiet in the 6 weeks holidays for some reason im sure from mid sept to the end of Jan will be as mad as normal ???

Hi

I have nothing to fear from the tax man, I disclose all my earnings, I don't like to look over my shoulder.

The £20-30 ones are communal cleans, some are also maintenance work, some of those jobs have taken 20 mins at most.

I do a mixture of CC, EOT's, maintenance & communal' s/Office cleaning.

I have had to Improvise, Adapt & Overcome to increase my workload.

But does increasing your workload increase your net profit?

That looks very impressive posted up in a big long list of 53 jobs, but it amounts to £3,574.50.  That's an average ticket of £67.

How much diesel did you burn and how much £ worth of chems did you get through to do that?

How many hours out on the road?

Top line is one thing, net profit is another!

I'm not being dismissive or critical, just curious as to how this approach works out at the end of the day for you. :)

These jobs being in Brighton there is not much distance between them. So quite viable to do at that price.

Busy Busy Busy but most is only a week out though, Looking at the next week on a monday is worrying but by friday it is all booked up. I think the 2-3 weeks days are a distant dream for me at the moment, always a week out at the most.

Very strange, but August is alway good because I get my Student work in farnham which keeps me very busy.

Did that one today ;D

Although this month was a good one, it doesn't make up for the previous 9 quiet months.

This year has been a tough one, it's my student season so was expecting it to go a little nuts.

Sam

No they haven't all paid yet, most is for LA's so quite a bit outstanding.

Luckily busy as ever for me ,dont think anybody who has been trading 10 years plus should be suffering . Should have many contacts through repeats and referalls .

Really this supposed recession should benefit most of us as cleaning is by far the cheaper option to replacing.

Must admit wouldnt like to be starting from scratch though in this current climate.

Well done Derek if youve not long started and your busy you must be doing something right.

Looking at your website and the way you present yourself and your van your half way there anyway, calnt beat a well sign written van , best form of advertising by far and the cheapest in the long run.

clinton, andy, never said i was busy, just lovin it and quietly confident, all jobs, satisfied (if not over the moon) customers, a letting agency to use me after a perfect clean on there office, a schoolnext week and a blind society, plus i did an emergency call out for a maintenance company last night in birkenhead, flooded blockbuster, said they were well happy and would use again, its gonna take me a year or too before i'm busy but i'm lovin the work and i'm lovin the challenge,
i feel 21 again. its just a shame my back doesnt feel 21 when i get home from a full house.
